Lantern Entertainment

Office moves and storage unit clean up are already daunting tasks. Add in having to manage these tasks from the other side of the country (Los Angeles), the potential for disaster increases ten-fold. However, Bill is a problem solver, ready with recommendations for almost any tricky move/clean out situation. The customer service provided by Dawn is unmatched and their moving crews are on-time and professional. The projects I have been handed would not be possible without them. Five stars for sure!!

ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER FROM DANA @ STUDIO71

Universe Moving Company was nothing short of helpful, accommodating and efficient with our company move. They were on time, packed up everything quickly and appropriately and delivered every piece in great shape. I would highly recommend them if your company is planning to move anytime soon.

Hawkins, Delafield and Wood

After a significant Bidding Process, UMC Moving was selected by Hawkins, Delafield and Wood, a 160 year old law firm, to relocate their offices from 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza into 7 World Trade Center. The relocation included packing, premoving and unpacking 3000 lineal feet of files and library as well as relocating the contents and technology for 170 personnel. Hawkins Delafield Partners were actively involved in the Relocation Process from the beginning. After the Office Relocation which encompassed 25 truckloads, UMC was asked to wrap and deliver numerous pieces of antiques and select furniture to Partners’ homes the following week as well as perform a move to their Newark, New Jersey Offices. Another satisfied client.

Discovery Channel

Working with move consulting firm The Meehan Group, UMC moved 150,000 sq. ft. of furniture, filing, and technology from 641 Lexington Ave. to 850 Third Ave. Forty movers completed the project over three weekends. The project included relocating surplus office equipment to Discovery Channel’s warehouse in Washington, D.C.

Bookspan

UMC had moved Bookspan three times in the past. UMC was awarded this job through a bid process. As a result of downsizing, Bookspan was moving from the Time Life Building at 1271 6th Avenue to 15 East 26th Street. In the middle of the move, on a Saturday night, it was discovered that Bookspan’s furniture dealer had ordered too much inventory. In the middle of the night, UMC moved 10 truckloads of surplus inventory to a warehouse and brought in extra movers and trucks to deliver the inventory back to Bookspan. Headquarters in Long Island on Sunday the furniture dealer on Sunday.

JP Morgan Chase

When the company moved its Home Finance Department from New York City to Edison, New Jersey, they chose UMC Moving to make it happen. Over a four-week period, UMC moved 750 people, executive office furniture and technology. The move resulted in UMC being named JP Morgan Chase’s on-call moving company.

Cablevision

Long Island’s Cablevision needed to switch employees at two of its call centers. The employees in Woodbury Long Island were moving to the call center in Melville Long Island and those in Melville needed to move to Woodbury. UMC had to simultaneously move 700 people, furniture, technology, and a rolling file system—the files needed to be tagged and moved as well. Time was critical. During the move, both locations would be offline and all calls diverted to other locations. Thirty-five movers, four tractor trailers, and five moving vans completed the move in one day. UMC had people loading at both locations and the two teams honked their horns as they passed each other going in opposite directions on the Long Island Expressway.

Sanofi-Aventis Group

When the world’s third-largest pharmaceutical company moved from 90 Park Avenue to Bridgewater, New Jersey, they contracted UMC Moving. The offices of 1,000 people and 20,000 linear feet of filing were packed, relocated, and unpacked during the three phase project. Each phase required three vans, three tractor trailers, and 25 movers. The team had to load trucks only on Thursday nights and had to complete loading by 11 PM because the building’s freight elevator was on a residential street.
